In the present paper the distribution of some rare algae in Hungarian are shown (Chlorococcales (5 species), Euglenophyta (1 species), Dinophyta (1 species), Glaucophyta (1 species), Raphidophyceae (2 species)), two of them can also be found on the Hungarian Red List. Gonyostomum semen (Ehrenberg) Diesing is a new data to the Hungarian flora, while Phacus similis Christen; Sorastrum americanum (Bohlin) Schmidle and Euastropsis richteri (Schmidle) Lagerheim have been known from single localities so far and these are their second observations. Most of the species were found only sporadically since 1900’s. The here presented algal taxa were mostly found in oxbow-lakes which underlines the importance and uniquity of natural-like oxbow-lakes in Hungarian water ecosystems.
