The alpine plant species Saxifraga adscendens L. was known from five locations in the vicinity of three localities in Hungary. A new location to the south of village Szarvaskő at Mt. Major’s north facing slope was found by the author in a Sesleria dominated grassland. The population here is a considerably large one compared to the other Hungarian populations. Coenological relevees illustrate the plant community at the new site.
