Interesting floristic data from the Mátra Mountains (NE Hungary) and its surroundings (including the fore-hill and plain regions) are presented. The enumeration contains abbreviations of smaller geographic areas within the studied region in boldface. This can be used for refining the floristic data. For the explanation of the abbreviationsconsult Sramkó et al. (2003).

The current dataset was collected between 2003-2006, mainly within the framework of the project “Hungarian Flora Mapping”. The paper enlists the occurrences of both previously described, now confirmed data, and also new findings, from which the following, regionally or nationally rare species can be emphasised: Carex supina Wahlbg., Campanula macrostachya W. et K., Corallorhiza trifida Chatel., Crepis nicaeensis Balb., Dactylorhiza incarnata (L.) Soó subsp. hyphaematodes (Rchb. f.) Verm., Echium italicum L., Epilobium palustre L., Epipactis albensis Nováková et Rydlo, Gagea bohemica (Zausch.) Schult. et Schult., Gladiolus palustris Gaud., Lathyrus pallescens (M.B.) C. Koch, L. sphaericus Retz., Linum trigynum L., Lycopodium complanatum L., Medicago rigidula (L.) All., Omphalodes scorpioides (Hke.) Schrk., Orchis coriophora L., Orobanche alsatica Kirschl., Peucedanum carvifolia Vill., Pisum elatius Stev., Primula vulgaris Huds., Pseudolysimachion spurium (L.) Rauschert subsp. foliosum (W. et K.) Harle, Pyrus nivalis Jacq., Scilla drunensis Speta, Taxus baccata L., Torilis ucranica Spr., Trifolium diffusum Ehrh. The erroneously reported occurrence of Selinum dubium (Schkuhr) Leute is also corrected.
