New floristic data to the knowledge of the flora and phytogeography of Visegrád Mountains are provided. This range is dominantly composed of andesite and andesite tuff base rocks. Some species turned out to be widespread in the sessile oak-turkey oak forests (Melica uniflora, Poa nemoralis, Luzula luzuloides, Achillea distans, Calamagrostis arundinacea, Trifolium aureum and Vicia sparsiflora). Another species set is similarly common in rocky grasslands and rocky outcrops (Androsace elongata, Draba muralis, Lathyrus sphaericus, Stipa dasyphylla, Asplenium septentrionale, Spiraea media). The occurrence of several species is restricted to certain regions. Out of these species, the ones characteristic to the edge zone in the surroundings of settlements (Pomáz.Szentendre.Leányfalu, Visegrád and Esztergom) are discussed with emphasis. Some of these species are present in all the three mentioned areas (e.g. Bupleurum rotundifolium, Anemone sylvestris, Arenaria procera, Phlomis tuberosa) while others can only be found in a part of these (e.g. Echium russicum, Sternbergia colchiciflora, Ononis pusilla, Anacamptis pyramidale, Clematis integrifolia, Oxytropis pilosa, Peucedanum arenarium, Taraxacum serotinum, Brassica elongata, Crepis pannonica, Silene longiflora). Several species characteristic of woody steppes (Peucedanum cervaria, Iris graminea, Trifolium montanum, Trifolium alpestre, Trifolium rubens, Inula hirta etc.) was proved to be similarly widespread in the inner, higher regions. Occurrence of Hottonia palustris and Carex leporina turned out to be characteristic to small lakes and temporary water bodies.
