Occurrence and characterization of five plant communities is discussed. Two wet meadow communities Caricetum buekii, Caricetum cespitosae and a rare Oenanthion-community, Sagittario-Sparganietum emersi are described from Hungary in detail. Two further Molinietalia communities: Caricetum paniceo-nigrae and Cirsietum rivularis, published earlier by the author but not covered in the Hungarian Red Data Book for communities, are also discussed. Caricetum paniceo-nigrae is distinguished from Caricetum goodenowii (acid fens, fen meadows) as well as from Succiso-Molinietum (drier and more calcareous habitats). All discussed communities are endangered in Hungary and Central Europe.
