Important floristic data collected in the Mátra Mts in 2001 are published. Most of the records are from the Central, Southern and Eastern part of the Mátra whereas some further records originate from the Kígyós Stream and the Dongó Mt, areas belonging to the Bükkalja. One species (Melilotus altissimus) is new for the Bükk and three ones (Chamaenerion dodonei, Cnidium dubium, Tribulus terrestris) are new for the Mátra.  Floristic data of 161 further native and 21 adventive species and archaeophytes are presented. The discussed species are protected ones (e.g. Clematis recta, Aster sedifolius, Scopolia carniolica, Lathyrus nissolia, Inula helenium, Ornithogalum pyramidale, Iris graminea, Iris variegata, Limodorum abortivum, Poa remota) or are characteristic of habitats that are important from a conservational point of view (e.g. Selinum carvifolia, Laser trilobum, Potentilla micrantha, P. erecta, Filipendula ulmaria, Geranium palustre, Gratiola officinalis).
