The common yew stand of Szentgál, which is the second largest population in the Carpathian Basin, was described in detail by A. Majer. Unfortunatelly the vegetation map published in Majer's monography has plenty of  insuffiency and there was significant change in the  size of common yew population in the last twenty years. This article presents a new vegetation map, short description of vegetation types (Laureolae-Fagetum, Fago-Ornetum, Quercetum petraeae-cerris, Orno-Quercetum, Cotino-Quercetum, Seseli leucospermo-Festucetum pallentis, planted Austrian pine stand) and some floristical data.
