Giant Foxtail (Setaria faberi), an invasive ruderal weed of Far East origin, was first reported from Hungary in 2010. In 2011 six new localities were found by the authors in maize fields and in ruderal habitats in the western part of the country. In Hungary S. faberi behaves as a typical invasive species and its further expansion can be expected in regions with humid climate and acid soil.
