The paper gives a brief account of the latest results of phenological characteristics of Hungarian orchids by reviewing the current literature. Main parts are: historical background, the phenological characterisation of hungarian orchids, flowering phenology, timing of fruit- and seed-production and climate change and the orchids.
The main aim of this account is to provide a more detailed scientific background to the chapter entitled 'The phenology of the Hungarian Orchids' in the forthcoming title Atlas of Hungarian Orchids published in Hungarian.
