Results of floristical research in Mátra Mountains (North Hungary) is presented and related floristical literature including the work of Rezső Soó (1937) is reviewed.

It presents records of species which are locally or generally rare or protected. After each record data on habitat and population size are given. Some old data from the first half of the century are confirmed and a lot of new findings are also presented. The occurence of Silaum peucedanoides (M.B.) Kern. (Seseli peucedanoides (M.B.) Kos.-Pol.) from the western part of the Mountains and the occurence of Alchemilla glaucescens Wallr. from a mountain-meadow near Mátrakeresztes are especially significant. At higher altitudes some mountain-plants (e.g. Rosa pendulina L., Lunaria rediviva L.) are widespread. The discovery of the Vicia lutea L. in natural grasslands near Pásztó is also interesting. New localities of Centaurea mollis W. et K. and Poa remota Forselles - discovered by András Vojtkó - are published first time.
