The paper gives an account of the presence of Orchis simia Lam. in Karancs Hills (N-Hungary). This particular data represents the most northern place of occurance in south-east Europe. The species can be found in an ecoton situation transition from thermophilous to acidophilous oak wood growing on calcareous and acidic bedrock respectively.
