New or recently confirmed localities of more than 80 rare and important species are presented from the vicinity of Budapest. Based on evaluation of relevant literature and herbarium revision carried out by the author in BP some species are new for the following territories: Bolboschoenus planiculmis - Gerecse Mts.; Carex remota, Juncus tenuis, Myosotis sparsiflora - Buda Mts.; Petrorhagia saxifraga - Visegrád Mts. Some former records of characteristic taxa of disappearing and highly endangered habitats (wetland and saline meadows) in Budapest are confirmed, while all former records and presence of Muscari botryoides in the Buda Mts. are questioned. New records of some rare or poorly known weeds in Hungary (Amaranthus crispus, Chorispora tenella and Parietaria judaica) are also published.
