New or recently confirmed localities of more than 120 rare or important species are presented from the Hungarian part of the Tornense. In case of the most important species the circumstances of discovery and the relevant literature are surveyed.

Taxonomic investigations were carried out and new aspects of judgement were established on two of the newly recognised species [Scilla kladnii Schur, Sesleria varia (Jacq.) Wettst.]. Other significant species [Dryopteris assimilis S. Walker, Eleocharis ovata (Roth) R. et Sch., Glyceria declinata Bréb., Limosella aquatica L., Luzula pilosa (L.) Willd., Lycopodium clavatum L., Orthilia secunda (L.) House, Phegopteris connectilis (Mich.) Watt., Polystichum spp., Senecio aurantiacus (Hoppe) Less., Sphagnum spp.] are also new to the region.

Some of the old but important data [Asplenium viride Huds., Cytisus ciliatus Wahlbg., Dianthus plumarius ssp. praecox (Kit. ex Schult.) Domin etc.] are confirmed.

Rare and disappearing weeds around village Aggtelek are also mentioned. Presence of Molinio arundinaceae-Quercetum roboris community is described on some patches of the Tertiary sediment karst region near the village Aggtelek.
