The main guidelines of the review are the followings: vegetation maps of scale of 1:10 000, the distribution of species and communities, mountain-submountain area, woodland. The paper refers to the following topics: scale, transitions between the communities and their representation, woods degraded by silviculture, legend. It presents examples of vegetation maps of different scales of the same area furthermore of the different legends.
